This day belongs to the Fravashis. Because it falls on a Sunday this year, it is a wonderful opportunity for the community to gather.

The Convergence of Spirit and Time

In our tradition, time is a sacred cycle. Every day of the month has a name. Every month of the year has a name. When the day and the month share the same name, we celebrate a Jashan. April 19 marks the day of Farvardin in the month of Farvardin.

For us practitioners, this is not just a date on a calendar. It is a thin veil between the physical world and the spiritual realm. We focus our energy on the Fravashis—the guardian spirits. Your Fravashi is your divine essence. It existed before you were born. It stays pure throughout your life. It guides you toward Ashavan (righteousness). On Jashan-e-Farvardingan, we honor the Fravashis of the departed and the Fravashis of those yet to be born.

Nourishing the Fravashis

We believe that the spirits of our ancestors remain connected to us. They protect us. In return, they require nourishment. We do not nourish them with physical food, but with the vibration of our prayers and the scent of our offerings.

When we pray the Farvardin Yasht, we call upon the millions of Fravashis that protect the universe. We thank them for keeping the waters flowing, the plants growing, and the sun shining. Without their constant battle against the forces of darkness, the world would wither.

Essential Rituals: Visiting the Aramgah

On April 19, we perform specific actions to show our devotion. Follow these steps to participate fully in the Jashan:

1. Visit the Aramgah (Cemetery): Go to the resting place of your loved ones. This is the primary tradition of Farvardingan.
2. Clean the Space: Wipe away the dust. Pull the weeds. Ensure the area is respectful and tidy.
3. Offer White Flowers: Bring lilies, roses, or jasmine. White symbolizes purity and Vohuman (the Good Mind).
4. Present Fresh Fruit: Place pomegranates, apples, and dates near the memorial. These represent the bounty of the Earth and the Amesha Spenta, Ameretat (Immortality).
5. Light the Diwa: Ignite a small oil lamp or a candle. Let the light pierce the darkness.
6. Offer Sandalwood and Loban: If allowed at your local Aramgah, burn incense. The fragrance is said to please the Fravashis.

The Jashan Ceremony

The heart of the day is the communal Jashan ceremony. Our Mobeds (priests) gather before the sacred fire. They recite the Afrinagan-e-Ardafravash. As a practitioner, your role is to maintain “Mano” (concentration).

Listen to the rhythmic chanting. Feel the heat of the fire. When the Mobeds lift the flowers and fruits, they are blessing the entire world. They pray for the peace of the souls of the righteous. Global Observance: Dates for the Diaspora

Our community is spread across the globe. We follow different calendars. While the Fasli calendar marks the Jashan on April 8, we acknowledge our brothers and sisters following the Kadmi and Shenshai traditions.

• Kadmi Muktad Period: July 6 to July 15, 2026.
• Shenshai Muktad Period: August 5 to August 14, 2026.

Regardless of the date you follow, the intent is the same: Remembrance. Protection. Continuity.

جشن فروردینگان ۲۰۲۶: روز یادبود و حفاظت ایزدی

به «نور زرتشتی» خوش آمدید. ما با هم در راه اندیشه نیک، گفتار نیک و کردار نیک قدم برمی‌داریم. در روز یکشنبه، ۱۹ آوریل ۲۰۲۶، جامعه ما جشن فروردینگان را برگزار می‌کند. این روز متعلق به فروهرها است. چون امسال این روز در یکشنبه قرار می‌گیرد، فرصت بسیار خوبی برای گردهمایی جامعه است.

تلاقی روح و زمان

در سنت ما، زمان چرخه‌ای مقدس است. هر روزِ ماه نامی دارد. هر ماهِ سال نیز نامی دارد. وقتی نام روز و نام ماه یکی می‌شود، ما آن را جشن می‌گیریم. ۱۹ آوریل مصادف است با روز فروردین در ماه فروردین.

برای ما پیروان دین زرتشتی، این فقط یک تاریخ در تقویم نیست. این لحظه‌ای است که پرده میان جهان مادی و جهان مینوی نازک می‌شود. ما انرژی خود را بر فروهرها متمرکز می‌کنیم؛ ارواح نگهبان. فروهر شما ذات ایزدی شماست. پیش از تولد شما وجود داشته، در طول زندگی پاک می‌ماند و شما را به سمت اشویی (راستی) هدایت می‌کند. در جشن فروردینگان، ما به فروهر درگذشتگان و همچنین فروهر کسانی که هنوز به دنیا نیامده‌اند، درود می‌فرستیم.

خشنودی فروهرها

ما باور داریم که ارواح نیاکانمان با ما در ارتباط هستند. آن‌ها از ما محافظت می‌کنند. در مقابل، آن‌ها نیاز به یادبود دارند. ما آن‌ها را با غذای مادی نه، بلکه با ارتعاش دعاهایمان و بوی خوش هدایایمان خشنود می‌کنیم.

وقتی ما «فروردین یشت» را می‌خوانیم، میلیون‌ها فروهر را که از جهان محافظت می‌کنند، فرامی‌خوانیم. از آن‌ها سپاسگزاری می‌کنیم که آب‌ها را روان، گیاهان را سبز و خورشید را تابان نگه می‌دارند. بدون نبرد همیشگی آن‌ها علیه نیروهای تاریکی، جهان پژمرده می‌شد.

آیین‌های ضروری: زیارت آرامگاه

در ۱۹ آوریل، ما کارهای مشخصی را برای نشان دادن ارادت خود انجام می‌دهیم. این مراحل را دنبال کنید:

۱. زیارت آرامگاه: به محل استراحت عزیزان خود بروید. این سنت اصلی فروردینگان است.
۲. پاکسازی فضا: گرد و غبار را پاک کنید. علف‌های هرز را بچینید. اطمینان حاصل کنید که محیط محترمانه و مرتب است.
۳. تقدیم گل‌های سفید: گل‌های لیلیوم، رز یا یاس بیاورید. رنگ سفید نماد پاکی و وهمن (منش نیک) است.
۴. ارائه میوه تازه: انار، سیب و خرما را در کنار مزار قرار دهید. این‌ها نشان‌دهنده بخشش زمین و امشاسپند امرداد (جاودانگی) هستند.
۵. روشن کردن دیوا: یک چراغ روغنی کوچک یا شمع روشن کنید. اجازه دهید نور تاریکی را بشکافد.
۶. بوی خوش: اگر در آرامگاه محلی شما اجازه داده می‌شود، چوب صندل و اسفند بسوزانید. گفته می‌شود بوی خوش فروهرها را شادمان می‌کند.

مراسم جشن

قلب این روز، مراسم آیینی جشن است. موبدان در برابر آتش مقدس گرد هم می‌آیند. آن‌ها «آفرینگان اردفروش» را تلاوت می‌کنند. شما به عنوان یک پیرو، باید «مانو» (تمرکز) خود را حفظ کنید.

به آواهای موزون اوستا گوش بسپارید. گرمای آتش را حس کنید. وقتی موبدان گل‌ها و میوه‌ها را بلند می‌کنند، در حال برکت دادن به کل جهان هستند. آن‌ها برای آرامش روان‌های راست‌کرداران دعا می‌کنند. حتی اگر نمی‌توانید به صورت حضوری در آتشکده شرکت کنید، می‌توانید به صورت دیجیتال در نور زرتشتی به ما بپیوندید تا دعاهای ضبط شده و ارتباطات اجتماعی را بیابید.

برگزاری جهانی: تاریخ‌ها برای زرتشتیان سراسر دنیا

جامعه ما در سراسر جهان پراکنده است. ما از تقویم‌های مختلفی پیروی می‌کنیم. در حالی که تقویم فصلی جشن را در ۸ آوریل برگزار می‌کند، ما به برادران و خواهران خود که از سنت‌های قدیمی و شاهنشاهی پیروی می‌کنند نیز احترام می‌گذاریم.

صرف نظر از تاریخی که دنبال می‌کنید، نیت یکی است: یادبود، حفاظت و تداوم.

زندگی با ایمان

فروردینگان به ما یادآوری می‌کند که ما هرگز واقعاً تنها نیستیم. ارتش عظیمی از ارواح نگهبان در کنار ما قدم برمی‌دارند. وقتی با تصمیم سختی روبرو می‌شوید، از فروهر خود راهنمایی بخواهید. وقتی زیبایی را در طبیعت می‌بینید، از فروهرها برای محافظتشان تشکر کنید.

خانه خود را آماده کنید. نور را دعوت کنید. در ۱۹ آوریل، بیایید در روح با هم ایستادگی کنیم. چون امسال این روز در یکشنبه قرار می‌گیرد، فرصت بسیار خوبی برای گردهمایی جامعه است. دعاهای خود را نثار کنید. نیاکان خود را خشنود کنید و از آینده محافظت نمایید.
